EUAU Taskforce for Rural Africa Youth Consultation

  • Goal: Engage young people as actors but also a highly relevant population in Africa in the task force (TFRA) and ensure direct impact.
  • I4Nature process: I4NATURE has initiated a consultation through Youth world food day in collaboration with the TFRA to involve young people in the work of the task force.
  • Youth engagement: During the Youth world food day, young people could participate in the task force and also make an immediate impact through the day.

''We need to engage young people in strengthening the partnership between the European Union and Africa on food & agriculture''. The European Commission and the Task force rural Africa (TFRA) are working on an advisory report to improve food security in Africa. During a presentation by the Task force rural Africa of the European Commission, it became clear that the voice of young people is needed in this report.

Based on this presentation, I4NATURE designed a process where young people can actually have their say on this important topic. This has been done during Youth World Food Day, a special day for young people around the world where you can give your input and help think about how to improve the advisory report to improve food security in Africa. The opinion of young people will be directly integrated into an action plan after this day through Earth Young Food Soldiers and English4farming. Through this unique project, young people can therefore make an immediate impact.
