Paper Challenge

The industry association for paper processors wants to make paper more sustainable, using less energy. We recruited young people in the paper challenge who wanted to design a solution for this and had a prototype idea produced in a challenge programme. Afterwards, we worked on the implementation of this prototype.

The aim was to unlock the potential of so-called dropouts from education, who often do not fit into the standard picture of education, because they are often gifted or extra-intelligent.

The paper industry is a major energy consumer, with these new perspectives they can go further with adapting to making processes more energy efficient. The Ministry of Economic Affairs helped facilitate this process to help an industry innovate in new ways. It is exploring whether this form of working can help other industries or startups develop and innovate.
